Television Star Charlie Rymer to Return to World Am

A familiar face will be returning to the 30th annual Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship.

Golf television personality Charlie Rymer will be appearing two nights at the World’s Largest 19th Hole. Rymer is the second television personality to commit to the event, joining Brandel Chamblee.

A former host of the Big Break and Road Trip: Myrtle Beach, Rymer is one of golf television’s most prominent personalities.

He is also a regular on Golf Central and a member of Golf Channel’s tournament coverage team. A three-year member of the PGA Tour, Rymer was an All-American at Georgia Tech and won on what is now the Web.com Tour.

Rymer will emcee the 19th Hole activities, entertain tournament participants with stories from behind the scenes on the PGA Tour, and take questions from the crowd.

The World Am will be played August 26-30 on 63 Myrtle Beach area golf courses. The 72-hole net stroke play tournament is open all golfers with a verifiable USGA handicap, and entry includes access to the World’s Largest 19th Hole, where free food, drinks, live entertainment and a golf expo are among the attractions.

More than 3,500 players from all 50 states and 25 foreign countries are expected to participate. Players are divided into five divisions based on gender, age and handicap.

At the conclusion of four rounds of competition, all flight winners and ties advance to the World Championship Playoff at Barefoot Resort’s Dye Club.
