Hole #18 is featured in “The 100 Greatest Holes along the Grand Strand” – published by The Sun News. “Narrow fairways, sharp doglegs are part of this classic old style design.” – by Nick Nicholas, Sun News Golf Writer. Litchfield Country Club was among the initial 8 courses built on the Grand Strand & was the first course in the Pawleys Island/Litchfield area.

Golf Digest awarded them 4.5 STARS in their “Places to Play” and Conde Nast Traveler says it is one of the “World’s 50 Best”. The gracious charms of this exclusive country club are enjoyed by only a limited number of visiting golfers. “The Myrtle Beach Golf Insider” has over 225 reviews on this course with an overall 7.8 course evaluation. Mature tree-lined fairways wind amid the giant oaks and shimmering lakes of a former Carolina rice plantation, creating an extraordinarily challenging “country club” golf experience. While it’s popular for courses today to tweak their design, open for play in 1966, the course has maintained its original features, including player friendly greenside pathways for bump and run approach shots.
