World Am Experience: Seventh Year

What made you decide to come to the event?
We had been coming to Myrtle Beach for 15 years, and we found out about the tournament – I believe it was through the Superstore. We saw a flyer and ever since we found out, we’ve played in it every year.

What brings you back?
Playing with people from all over the world is intriguing and playing tournament golf. The people you meet. The 19th hole is great … It’s all of that.

What is your favorite World Am story?
Probably not one I can tell!

How does the 19th Hole experience contribute to your enjoyment of the tournament?
I think it’s very important because you see everybody you played with during the day in a more relaxed atmosphere. It has good food and drinks, and they’ve improved it every year. And Friendly’s ice cream, that’s probably my favorite!

Do you still get nervous before the event?
My game isn’t great this year. I don’t really have any expectations, but the first tee is always a nervous (time).

What is your course rotation this year?
Legends Parkland, Possum Trot, Lion’s Paw, True Blue

Why has Myrtle Beach been a long time destination for you?
All the golf. That’s all we do is eat, sleep and play golf. This year we are really looking forward to the dancing (at the 19th Hole) because we’ve been taking dance lessons.

What is your favorite Myrtle Beach golf course?
Caledonia.

What is your favorite restaurant?
We go to Margaritaville every year for the nachos.

Your best finish in the tournament?
Sixth my first or second year and it has been downhill ever since.

What advice would you give someone considering playing in the event?
Just come and enjoy it. We tell everyone in St. Louis about it. Hopefully we are spreading the word.
