World Am Course Rotation Includes Four Fit for a “King”

Of the 55 participating courses in this year’s Play Golf Myrtle Beach World Amateur Championship just four bear the treasured signature of “The King,” Arnold Palmer. Of those, two in particular stand out not just for their top-shelf designs but also for notable upgrades each has received in the past few years alone.

Featured at the three-course complex at Myrtle Beach National Golf Club is King’s North, which completed extensive renovations within the past year that include restoration of greens to their original size, extensive reworking of every bunker on the course, and reimagined green surrounds that altered the design’s topography enough to allow for more angles of attack to the pin. Those who draw King’s North as part of their flight’s course rotation are in for a treat, as customers have been continuously raving about the revamped look and top-shelf conditioning.

To the north, Rivers Edge (pictured) has progressively undergone renovations in recent years including bunker enhancements and extensive restoration to its bulkheads on holes 9, 15 and 18. Along with a reimagined clubhouse experience, it adds up to a premium golf experience from arrival to departure at a property set among one of the Grand Strand golf scene’s most stunning landscapes.

And for those at Myrtle Beach National who draw either of its SouthCreek or West courses instead, you’re still in for a one-of-a-kind Palmer experience. SouthCreek is a shot-maker’s delight that rewards precision rather than raw power, while West Course offers a more expansive design devoid of housing and opportunities to score with more aggressive play.

So as you await final word of course selections for your flight this year, rest assured that any inclusion of an Arnold Palmer design is a good bet to wind up in your “plus” column!
